Beat Somebody is one of "Shadow of the Locust" most enigmatic members. He loves God as revealed through Scripture, he feels music is best when it is Glorifying God, he makes beats, and that's all he really wants to be known about himself.
We'll add what we know. He hails from California. He has been an active member of SOTL since 2004 when he worked extensively on Dirt's 'Upsetter Mixtape' & then later on the 'Heavy Manners' album mostly as an engineer. Shortly after completion of 'Heavy Manners', Beat Somebody began submitting production for the crew's use and from the beginning, the tracks were hot!
A self pronounced Audiophile, his uncanny way of finding obscure samples and ultimately grimey usage of those loops mixed over clean drum breaks has made many a Locust MC happy and created a number of memorable songs to add to the entire SOTL discography. "the Music should speak on it's own", he has said, "the listener should be able to discern what the song wants to say before an emcee even touches it."
Beat Somebody is a wonder at the soundboard as his unique sequencing techniques create highly memorable soundscapes that tend to emphasize any MC's vocals on a track. He produces almost exclusively for SOTL but expresses a desire to work with any MC/Artist seeking to make uplifting, creative music. He has worked with industry recognized artist's Jupiter 7, Jendor, Adam Neil and many more. Currently he is hard at work with the Solomon Cain, Desert Fathers and upcoming Noiz/Dirt and Reveal/Dirt albums.
